Yay Rikku!!! I love Rikku so much, and even though I’m not a big fan of the newer Final Fantasy’s I love X-2, it’s fun and a little mindless, but in a really great way, imo at least. Rikku is a fun character too, she light hearted and tries to see the best in everything, personally I think she’s a great character. I want to cosplay a ton of her dresssphere’s as well as make up some of my own, honestly I can’t believe there isn’t a Red Mage dress sphere!!! (Red Mage is my favourite job class)

For now though please enjoy my Thief Rikku, these were taken at FanExpo, I was so happy that it was sunny for these shots, I just feel like this version of Rikku needs to be in a place that looks warm.

About the Costume
All made by myself, (other than the shoes). The top was bought and dyed, the details added after with fabric paint. The skirt was made out of an old pair of jeans and then dyed to a darker brown colour. The sleeves where made from sheer fabric I left the bows out because I feel like they look silly in real life. I knitted the scarf and then dyed it red to get the fading look. There was a lot of fabric dyeing in this. The wig I bought came mostly styled I just had to add the beads, and the headband.

personally like this photo the most of this Rikku set because of the pose. Looks perfectly Rikku-esque in every way, and that's one of my favorite things to see in cosplay, that ability to be "in character" more than just wearing the costume. This is probably my favorite Rikku set of yours, too.
The dying and fading you did on the costume turned out really nicely and you nailed the color scheme seamlessly, too. especially like how the skirt and scarf came out. That's really cool that you knitted the scarf yourself, too :D The katars/dual-blades also look really good, do you mind if I ask what they're made out of? :happybounce:

Aw thank you so much!! And the blades are made of foam core and tape and paper mache, and then painted.

I guess they figured there would be too many "Mage" dresspheres so they omitted Blue and Gun Mage for Red Mage. Now I wanna play FFX-2 again Meow :3 !

still i love the red mage class, personally i feel like there should be more dress spheres all around i mean there are a ton of job classes, and only a few of them make into dress spheres, i think they could have done more with it is all.

Yeah they could've but they probably just ran out of ideas for costumes. Then again the Director's Cut has some extra dresspheres and only Japan gets it... lucky mofos..
